Crews have started work on the Capitol Annex Project, which involves the removal and relocation of some of the trees in Capitol Park.

Some opposed to the project gave the media a tour of the site, showing the current and future footprint required for the new Annex’s construction.

They say the new visitor’s center will impact public access and future public activities on the West step; and a new underground parking garage along 12th street will impact both N and L street. The group says there are 4 lawsuits currently filed, challenging that project.
